Cubone Scan

I drew this a little over a year ago while watching the episode 'A Chansey Operation'. I always loved the scene with the Cubone and decided to jump at the chance to trace its X-ray picture. I remember that when watching it on T.V., you can clearly see the outline of its body, but on a computer screen, it's next to impossible, so I wasn't able to 'super-impose' its body outline over the skeleton (which is a shame, because it's super cute 'cause you see its little pot-belly ) One thing I noticed was that its skull exactly matches the skull helmet it wears in shape (sans the horns). It ALMOST fits the helmet exactly, too. This would imply that it's whole head actually does fill the entire helmet space (or at least most of it) giving us a vague idea of what lies beneath the helmet. This is somewhat inconsistent with the earlier episode, 'The School of Hard Knocks!' where, while battling a Cubone, Pikachu is able to completely turn its helmet around. The only way this would be possible would be if its entire snout region didn't completely fill the corresponding cavity of the helmet. The only thing I can think of to explain this is the fact that the animators or whatever were inconsistent in Cubone's physiological design, didn't think about it, or that, maybe, giving them the benefit of the doubt, Cubone 'grows' into the helmet as it matures, possibly including an enlongated snout feature. I firmly believe that Cubone DOES have a long snout because in pictures in which the underside of its skull is shown, you can clearly see it possesses an enlongated chin/lower jaw that seems to extend the entire length of the skull.
